Greater Taree and the Manning Valley offers one of the best and most sought after lifestyles in New South Wales if not Australia. It's proximity to Sydney, abundance of clean, fresh water and extensive range of community facilities are key drivers for growth in the area.
Taree is fortunate to have the Manning Base Hospital (which has recently undergone a $70 million upgrade and extension), the Mayo Private Hospital and many other allied health related services. It has one of the best aquatic and leisure centres including 50m outdoor pool, 25m indoor pool (heated), childrens play area (heated), water slides and much more. Taree is also home to the 500 seat Manning Entertainment Centre which attracts world-class acts such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Mount George has its own primary school but there are more than 30 private and public primary and secondary schools to choose from in the Manning Valley. Mount George is close to some of the best, uncrowded beaches in Australia including Hallidays Point, Old Bar Harrington and Forster. Most of these beaches are patrolled. Some are great for surfing whilst others are more protected and safe for the younger family members.
